DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Each client is unique, with specific needs and distinct style ideas. My goal is to create a design that embraces those ideas and needs, with a result that exceeds the client’s greatest expectations.

Since 1975, I’ve been a registered architect in the state of Oregon. After working for several years with large architectural firms, I opened my own office in 1985. I’m a sole proprietor with a home office located in Cedar Hills, just west of Portland.

I thoroughly enjoy meeting and communicating with clients, discussing my fees, describing the design process and how it works, and explaining what a set of construction drawings includes. I’m also happy to explain what I do during the construction process to help ensure that my clients receive the quality product they expect.

My primary goal when designing a project is that it accommodates the client’s needs and most importantly that it exceeds any expectations that the client may have had for the finished product.

In new home projects it is a essential that the finished work appear that it belongs to the site.   In additions to existing homes it is essential that any new work look as though it was part of the existing design and construction.  Interior remodels should make seamless transitions to the existing home.

Designs must be classic in nature, and not influenced by popular fads. In ten years, with appropriate maintenance, the work should be as appealing as it was upon completion.
