1960s Guest and Master Bath Remodels
1965 Two Baths & Bedroom Remodel
The Guest Bath and the Master Bath in this 1965 ranch were original to the home. The Guest bath was reduced in size and the Master Bath expanded into the extra square footage. The balance of the home has been modified into a traditional style with crown and base mouldings plus six panel interior doors. The two Baths were done in a traditional style to match.
Filled travertine tile was used in both Baths as a floor finish and a surround for the tub and showers. The Guest Bath is an interior room. A 12 inch high translucent glass panel was installed along the full width of the back wall at the ceiling. This translucent glass panel allows daylight from the new large Master Bath window to illuminate the Guest Bath during the daylight hours. Enough light comes into the Guest Bath through this glass panel to allow for use without turning on a light.
In the Guest bath a freestanding piece of furniture has been used as the vanity that supports a vessel type sink. The Master Bath vanity was custom designed for the space to accommodate a cat box with access through a door on the vanity front for maintenance and with an open side panel for the cat to slip in and still conceal the litter box. Recessed lights were installed in both Bathroom ceilings. Sconce lights were placed on each side of the Master Bath mirror.
